Substance Abuse in Special Populations

Detrall Dearbone LCPC, LPC, LSOTP, LSOE, CADC, EMDR certified and Army veteran earned a Bachelor in Sociology and a Masters in Human Services with a concentration in Addictions. She is the owner of Dearbone Counseling Center, INC. She has 30 plus years working in Psychiatric Hospitals, State Mental Health Facilities, Department of Corrections, and Private Practice.

This offering is a four-hour seminar. Attendees will examine the definition of special population in Substance use disorder. The participants will also learn what groups in the United States have special treatment needs and are underserved in receiving substance abuse treatment. As treatment providers we need to advocate and ensure that we are providing evidence-based treatment to our special population group.
